How does a person's affliction with jinn possession – to the extent that they cannot hear the Qur'an or pray – reconcile with Allah's love for them, given that affliction is a manifestation of Allah's love?
Tribulation is not necessarily proof of God's love; it may be a punishment for sins. The one afflicted by jinn possession must seek means of treatment, the most important of which are obedience to God and abstaining from His prohibitions, and striving against the self to listen to and recite (remembrance of God). For whoever strives against their self and is sincere in seeking refuge in God, God will aid and support them, and the tribulation will transform for them into a blessing that draws them closer to their Lord and helps them in His obedience, in affirmation of His (the Most High) saying: "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good" (Al-Ankabut: 69).
