Is it incumbent upon one who performed ghusl from janabah in the morning but did not pray Asr, and whose deeds have been invalidated, to repeat ghusl the following day, or is repentance sufficient?

Prayer is the pillar of the religion and the second pillar of Islam. One who misses the Asr prayer while acknowledging its obligation commits a great sin, but this does not render him an unbeliever according to the majority of scholars. He must make up the prayer and offer sincere repentance. As for one who performs ghusl from janabah in the morning, his ghusl is not invalidated by missing the Asr prayer, nor is ghusl obligatory for him the following day unless something occurs that necessitates it.
