What is the ruling regarding my previous prayers and fasting, knowing that I did not perform ghusl from janabah due to my ignorance?

Scholars have differed regarding one who omits a condition of prayer due to ignorance of its ruling: Is he obligated to repeat the prayer or not? Some have said that the conditions are waived, citing the statement of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah that Allah has forgiven error and forgetfulness, and "We would not punish until We send a messenger." They also cite that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not command repetition in similar cases. However, others hold that conditions are not waived by ignorance, just as they are not waived by forgetfulness. This is the adopted ruling, as it is more cautious and absolves one's responsibility. Accordingly, if you prayed while in a state of major ritual impurity (janābah), unaware of the obligation of ghusl, you must repeat the prayer. There is no sin upon you for your ignorance. The prayers should be made up based on what is most likely to absolve one's responsibility, and the make-up should be performed according to one's capacity, in a way that does not harm the body or livelihood.
