Is it permissible to pray between Asr and Maghrib?

The jurists have agreed upon the reprehensibility of performing supererogatory prayers after the Asr prayer until sunset, due to the prohibition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding that. This prohibition is considered one of complete prohibition by many jurists, with the exception of prayers with specific reasons, such as greeting the mosque (Tahiyyat al-Masjid). The fatwa permits their performance during times of prohibition.
