What is the recompense for a young man who persistently practices masturbation?

The ruling on masturbation has been explained in previous fatwas. No specific warning or punishment for this act has been proven from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, but this does not negate the existence of a punishment. What is narrated about the one who commits it being cursed is weak.
