Is it permissible to perform ghusl and wear the ihram from Medina, then make the intention for Umrah, perform ablution, and pray at the Miqat? And is it permissible to perform ghusl and wear the ihram from a hotel in Mecca, then go to the Mosque of Sayyidah Aisha for ablution and intention?

It is permissible to perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) and wear the ihram (definition) garments in Medina before reaching the miqat (definition) (station for assuming ihram), but it is better to delay assuming ihram until Dhu al-Hulayfah. Whoever is inside Mecca and wishes to perform Umrah (definition) must go out to the al-Hill (areas outside the sacred precinct, such as Tan'im) to assume ihram from there. It is permissible for him to perform ghusl and wear the ihram garments in his residence in Mecca, then go out to al-Hill to assume ihram. Whoever assumes ihram from within the Haram (definition) (sacred precinct) and performs Umrah, his Umrah is valid according to the majority of scholars, but he must offer a compensatory sacrifice (dam) for not assuming ihram from the miqat (al-Hill). The Malikis, however, are of the view that his Umrah is not sufficient unless he goes out to al-Hill before performing tawaf (definition) and sa'i.
