What should a person do if affected by (Wadi – Madhy – Maniy) in a place where water is unavailable?
If a person for whom (ritual bath) or wudu (ablution) is obligatory searches for water and does not find it, except at an excessive price, they should perform (dry ablution) and pray. It is preferable for them to delay the prayer until the end of its time if they hope to find water. As for semen or pre-seminal fluid staining clothes, it does not necessitate tayammum; this is the view of the majority of scholars. The evidence for the permissibility of tayammum when water is unavailable is the Almighty's saying: "And if you find no water, then perform tayammum with clean earth" and the : "Indeed, pure earth is a purifier as long as you do not find water."
