Is it permissible to say: "Oh, the irony of fate"?

It is not permissible to use the phrase "fate mocks me" for two reasons: First, it indicates discontent with Allah's decree, and a Muslim is required to be content with Allah's decree. For "the greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. And indeed, if Allah loves a people, He afflicts them. So, whoever is content, for him is contentment, and whoever is displeased, for him is displeasure." Second, it attributes mockery to fate, which is not permissible. Rather, one should say: "Allah willed it," or "Allah's wisdom necessitated it." Allah Almighty is not described with mockery except as a form of recompense, justice, and reciprocity. It is not permissible to derive names for Him from it or to use it outside its Quranic context.
