Is abandoning university studies considered a sin against God, especially if it is due to a lack of desire for them, knowing that the previous reason for continuing was the father's illness?

A child is not obligated to obey their parents in studying a specific major, nor are they disobedient for not pursuing that study in such a case. The questioner is advised to complete their studies to fulfill their father's wish, consider his illness, and obtain a university degree. However, if they are unable to do so, "Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity."
