ما معنى: "على حرد قادرين"؟

Scholars differed on the meaning of "حَرْدٍ" (ḥard). Al-Qurtubi and Ibn Abbas said it means "with intention and capability within themselves," thinking they had achieved their aim, so "ḥard" is intention. Al-Suddi and Sufyan said it means "with anger," and the meaning of "قادرين" (qādirīn - capable) is that they decided their matter and built upon it. Abu Ubaidah and Al-Qutaybi said they went forth with the intention of preventing the poor, so "ḥard" can refer to intention, prevention, and anger. This means they went forth with anger and the intention to prevent the poor, having decided upon it and agreed upon it, being capable of the fruits of their garden.
