Is it permissible for a husband to divorce his young wife with three irrevocable major divorces (talāq bā’in kubrā) at the same time, knowing that he has only consummated the marriage with her twice, and is it permissible for her to remain in his father’s house temporarily after her divorce until she returns to her family in Sham?

It is not permissible to compel a husband to divorce his second wife as long as he is just in providing for her maintenance, housing, and overnight stay, because the Sharia permits him to marry up to four women without anyone's permission. However, he should seek the permission of his first wife to avoid problems. The husband does not have the right to compel his first wife to serve his new wife, and there is no obedience to him in disobedience to the Creator, or in anything that harms her.

It is not permissible for a woman to request the divorce of her sister-wife. If the husband desires to divorce, it must be a Sunnah divorce: a single divorce during a period of purity in which he has not had intercourse with her. Issuing three divorces at once is forbidden and irrevocably separates the wife (bainunah kubra). A divorced woman should not leave her home, and she is entitled to maintenance and housing. The husband may reconcile with her during her waiting period (iddah). If the divorce is irrevocable, there is no maintenance or housing except for a pregnant woman.
