ما هو حكم الأسلوب القصصي في الدعوة إلى الله؟
The established wisdom stories in the Qur’an and Sunnah, as well as people’s experiences and real-life events, are among the most beneficial methods of Da‘wah (inviting to Islam) and guidance. The Qur’an used them to derive lessons and admonitions, and Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, commanded remembering the stories of the Qur’an, just as the Prophet himself used this wise method in narrating beneficial stories.
However, Da‘is (preachers) should not limit themselves to stories in their methods of admonition and teaching. Rather, the educational and Da‘wah matters must be rooted in their established proofs from the Qur’an and Sunnah, and then the story should be mentioned for its lesson and to illustrate practical application.
To achieve the objective of using stories in inviting to Allah, several features must be present, including: ensuring the truthfulness of the narrated stories, focusing on impactful points, having a good beginning and a strong ending, balancing between stories of previous generations and contemporary ones, and documenting the story by mentioning its reference or chain of narration to increase people’s trust.
