Does the wife's right to the time her husband spent with her co-wife remain a debt upon him after she divorced him and he remarried her?
A man must be just in dividing his time among his wives. He must allot the same share to the sick wife as he does to the healthy one. It is not permissible for him to divorce his wife before fulfilling her right to his time. If a couple separates and then reunites through a new marriage contract, he is obligated to make up for any previous unfulfilled rights concerning the division of his time. This obligation to make up for past inequities is waived if he takes her back after the separation of the wife due to whom the injustice in the division of time occurred. The obligation to make up for past inequities is also waived if the woman relinquishes her right or if they reach a mutual agreement regarding it.
