Is it permissible to address a jinn that is causing possession or sorcery and invite it to Islam and preach to it, or is that considered charlatanism and sorcery?

Addressing jinn, admonishing them, and inviting them to Islam is not charlatanism; rather, it is possible and has occurred frequently, and many jinn have publicly declared their conversion to Islam. It has been reported that Ibn Taymiyyah used to address the jinn and admonish them. Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz affirmed that the jinn entering humans is established by the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the Sunnis, and that whoever denies this is mistaken. He clarified that the verse: "Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity" indicates this. Furthermore, Ibn al-Qayyim explained that epilepsy is of two types: epilepsy caused by evil spirits, and epilepsy caused by imbalances of humors, and that the treatment for epilepsy caused by spirits is through benevolent spirits confronting evil spirits.
