Will a woman be rewarded for her education and work—such as in the medical profession—if she benefits her nation and adheres to Sharia guidelines, and is the merit of knowledge and work restricted to men?

A woman is a man's sister in knowledge and action, and she will be rewarded for the good she offers. Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, I will not allow to be lost the work of any worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another." (Aal-Imran: 195). She has the right to education and to study what suits her nature, and she will be rewarded for benefiting her nation in her specialization. The virtue of knowledge and work is not restricted to men to the exclusion of women.

A woman's going out for education or work is permissible if there is a need, provided Islamic guidelines are observed. If she stays in her home and fulfills her role in organizing her household affairs, taking care of her husband's matters, raising her children according to religion and faith, then she is considered an active participant in populating the earth and provides a great service to the nation. This is considered a tremendous act of worship.

A woman must continue her studies while observing Islamic guidelines and initiate marriage when possible.
