The answer

If merchandise is owned by several partners, there is no harm in them delegating one of them to disburse the on their behalf. Each partner disburses the zakat for his share if they do not delegate someone. Delegation in disbursing zakat on behalf of partners can take three forms: 1. Delegation restricted to one year: The agent must disburse the zakat for that year only, and he is not permitted to disburse it in the following year without new authorization. 2. Delegation for all years: The agent can disburse zakat on behalf of the partners for all years without the need for new authorization each year. 3. Absolute delegation: The agent may disburse zakat on behalf of the partners every year as long as the partnership exists, and he does not need new authorization.

The agent acts according to what he has been authorized to do. If the principal specifies or generalizes the authorization, the agent acts accordingly.
