What is the ruling on printing pictures of children, or cartoon characters, or 'scrapz' (a black, colorless figure) on cups?

We have previously clarified that drawing pictures of children and cartoon characters that are fully formed is forbidden. However, their creation may be permissible if intended for educating children. As for drawings of animals that are ناقصة الخلقة (deficient in creation) to such an extent that life is not possible with them, it is permissible to make, draw, sell, and use them. This is because a number of scholars have permitted incomplete images from which a part essential for life has been removed.
