What is the etiquette for the sick, and what matters help the sick to endure their illness with patience?

The sick person should be patient, have a good opinion of Allah, seek reward, remember Allah often, and supplicate for their own healing. They should also seek treatment through medicine and legitimate Ruqyah (definition), for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Seek treatment, for Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has not created a disease without creating a cure for it." What helps them be patient is seeking reward from Allah, and remembering that the patient will be given their reward without reckoning, and that "no calamity befalls a Muslim but Allah atones for some of his sins because of it, even if it is a thorn that pricks him," and that what afflicted them was not meant to miss them, and what missed them was not meant to afflict them.
