What is the ruling on not supplicating for healing while taking medicine, seeking reward and the ranks of the patient?

Diseases and pains are a means by which Allah expiates sins. However, one must ask Allah for well-being, seek healing from Him, and seek refuge from affliction. Supplicating for well-being is the best supplication. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, always asked Allah for well-being and forbade wishing for affliction. He also guided the sick to supplicate for healing while exercising patience.
