Is the action taken by my son Hamu—opening the Mus'haf to a specific page and turning it over on his finger, then contacting someone and asking them which of two apartments to choose—considered an act of sorcery?

This act is not from magic, but rather from seeking good omens from the Mus'haf (Qur'an), and it is not permissible according to the preponderant opinion, as it contradicts the view of the majority of scholars who prohibited it. Some of them even considered it haram (forbidden) or makruh (disliked) because it is a type of divination by arrows, and it may lead to pessimism concerning the Qur'an.
