What is the ruling on one who placed the Noble Qur'an in the bathroom and trod upon it with his feet with the intention of sorcery, and will his repentance be accepted?

Learning and practicing magic are forbidden in Islam. Indeed, many scholars, such as the Malikis and Hanbalis, consider the one who practices it to be an infidel. They base this on verse 102 of Surat Al-Baqarah and on Malik's statement: "Learning magic is disbelief, and its teacher is an infidel." Also, intentionally performing any act upon the Holy Qur’an with the intent of disrespect is considered disbelief that expels one from the fold of Islam. However, Allah Almighty accepts sincere repentance from the disbeliever and the apostate if they abandon their sins, regret them, and resolve not to return to them.
