Ibn Qudamah's abridgment of "Minhaj al-Qasidin" is distinctive in that it does not follow Al-Ghazali's arrangement, and focuses on the meanings of spiritual upbringing (tarbiyah) and purification (tazkiyah) without delving into jurisprudential branches.
