What is the ruling on working with people who commit sins and mock those who advise them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to work with disobedient individuals if the work itself is prohibited or involves an act of disobedience. However, if the work is permissible and their disobedience is external to it, then there is no objection. Nonetheless, a Muslim must enjoin good and forbid evil. If one expends effort and they do not respond, then what they do will not harm him, and he must avoid sitting with them and socializing with them when they are committing acts of disobedience. Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills" and "O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided."
