Does the reward for congregational prayer compensate for the lack of devotion in it compared to praying individually, and are there ways to increase devotion in congregational prayer?

Congregational prayer is obligatory for adult men, and it is not permissible to abandon it under the pretext of lacking devotion (khushu'), for this is a devilish excuse. The worshiper must pray in congregation and strive for devotion, as congregational prayer is one of the means of achieving presence of heart and devotion. One must be diligent in congregational prayer and not neglect it except with a valid excuse, and strive to acquire the means of devotion such as having presence of heart, contemplating the verses and remembrances, and striving against one's self.
