What is the ruling on allowing girls to go out on excursions alone without adult accompaniment?
The fundamental principle is for a woman to remain in her home, as she was created with gentleness and a love for adornment, which makes her a source of temptation for men. This is why it was said: "Indeed, a woman is 'awrah (private/vulnerable), and when she leaves her home, the devil beautifies her in the eyes of men." The home is the sanctuary where a woman finds herself. However, this does not prevent her from leaving for a need, as long as her departure is not accompanied by a legitimate religious prohibition, such as places being free from evil acts and the presence of good company. As for places frequented by men or containing evil acts, it is not permissible for a girl to go to them due to the temptation they pose. It is also not permissible to frequent places where evil acts have become widespread, and what is lawful suffices over what is unlawful.
