"Hasana" (good deed) refers to every good act, and it includes charities (sadaqat) and other good deeds. As for "sadaqa" (charity), it is what is given for the sake of Allah to the poor. It may also refer to the obligatory zakat. Its usage in the Hadith extends to tasbeeh (glorifying Allah) and takbeer (exalting Allah), meaning that these actions are equivalent to giving charity.
