Is cauterization considered a sin that necessitates repentance, and will those who repent from it be included among those mentioned in the hadith who enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment?

Cauterization is not a sin requiring repentance; rather, it is a permissible treatment, though abstaining from it is preferable. Whoever abstains from cauterization seeking nearness to Allah may enter Paradise without reckoning, among the seventy thousand mentioned in the hadith: "They are those who do not seek ruqya (incantations), nor do they believe in omens, and upon their Lord they rely." And as for one who underwent cauterization out of ignorance and then abandoned it, we hope that he will not be deprived of this promise, just as happened with Imran ibn Husayn, to whom the angels returned to greet him after he abandoned cauterization. The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin; so how much more for one who committed something disliked or less preferable? Thus, we hope that whoever abandons it for the sake of Allah will be encompassed by Allah's grace.
