Among the conditions for Zakat is "growth" (al-nama'). What is the meaning of this condition?

Growth (al-namaa’) linguistically means: increase and abundance. In Islamic law, it means: the increase and multiplication of wealth. It is of two types: real, which occurs through procreation, reproduction, and trade; and estimative, which is the ability to increase wealth due to its being in one’s possession or the possession of one’s representative. The growth stipulated for zakat (definition) on wealth is estimative growth, meaning the potential for the wealth to increase, not its actual increase.
