Does the loss or significant decrease of wealth contradict the idea that Zakat makes wealth grow, and is the growth of wealth not necessarily related to its loss in projects or stock market speculation?

Linguistically, Zakat means growth. Islamically, it signifies growth and purification. Its growth can manifest either through an increase in wealth, an abundance of reward, or by its connection to growing assets. This growth does not necessarily have to be a tangible increase in wealth; it can be in the multitude of rewards. Charity grows in the sight of Allah until it becomes greater than a mountain, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No one gives charity from good earnings, and Allah accepts only what is good, but the Most Merciful takes it with His right hand. Even if it is a date, it grows in the palm of the Most Merciful until it becomes greater than a mountain." And the Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: "Wealth is not diminished by charity," meaning that the wealth is blessed, thus compensating for its apparent decrease. Allah Almighty says: "And whatever you spend of anything, He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers," meaning that the compensation can be either in this world or the Hereafter, and it may be through the accumulation of rewards or the expiation of sins.
