Do recurring dreams about praying in the mosque, searching for a place to perform ablution, and leading congregational prayers indicate a shortcoming in performing the prayers, or are they mere pipe dreams?

Delaying the Asr prayer is not permissible. A Muslim must hasten to repent and strive to perform prayers at their appointed times and in congregation if possible, for Allah Almighty says: "So establish prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a timed ordinance" (An-Nisa: 103), and His saying: "Maintain with care the prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand with devotion for Allah" (Al-Baqarah: 238). Many scholars believe that the middle prayer is the Asr prayer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He who misses the Asr prayer is as though he has lost his family and his property," and he also said: "Whoever misses the Asr prayer, his deeds have been rendered vain." Therefore, it is not permissible to be preoccupied with work or anything else to the extent of missing prayers at their appointed times.
