Additionally, one must lower the gaze, not take pleasure in hearing the voice, not speak in a soft and alluring manner, and adhere to modesty and the legal hijab. If any of these conditions are violated, then speaking is not permissible. These regulations are not altered by the fact that he is a cousin or that he has not reached puberty; for a boy may desire before puberty, and an adolescent has the same rulings as adults regarding women.
