Is it permissible to purchase apartments that the state has seized and handed over to residents without compensating the original owners, knowing that the ownership of these buildings currently belongs to the state?

Nationalizing homes and dispossessing their owners contradicts Islamic law. It is an unjust usurpation of property, and the usurped property remains the possession of its owner; their right does not lapse by prescription. Therefore, it is not permissible to purchase or rent it, neither from the usurping state nor from anyone to whom the state has transferred it. Whoever does so is complicit with the usurper in the act of usurpation.
