Connecting verses 109 and 110 of Surat At-Tawbah (definition) to the events of September 11th is an attempt that is not based on the accepted principles of Quranic exegesis, which include interpreting the Quran by the Quran, or by what was narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or from the Companions and their successors, or the opinion of trustworthy scholars derived from language and the objectives of Islamic law. This interpretation has not been reported by any of the scholars of the Ummah, neither in the past nor in the present; therefore, it is not considered a correct interpretation of these two verses.
