The power of Allah must be made clear to disbelievers through verses that speak of His essence, His dominion, His governance of the world, and His subjection of creatures, using a strong style and compelling argument. Assistance can be sought from certain verses that indicate Allah's retribution against disbelievers, atheists, and hypocrites, such as His saying: (So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in what they had been given, We seized them unexpectedly, and suddenly they were in despair. So the last remnant of the people who wronged was cut off. And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds), and His saying: (And those who disbelieve will not cease to be afflicted for what they have done by [a] calamity or for it to descend near their home until there comes the promise of Allah. Indeed, Allah does not fail in [His] promise), and His saying: (So leave Me and those who deny this discourse. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they perceive not. And I will give them respite. Indeed, My plan is firm). And likewise, the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Allah grants respite to the oppressor, but when He seizes him, He does not let him escape."
