How can the Qur'an's mention of the torment of the people of Shu'ayb with the Sayhah (loud cry), the Rajfah (earthquake), and Yawm Al-Dhullah (the Day of the Canopy) be reconciled?

Allah Almighty gathered upon the people of Shu'ayb the types of torment mentioned because of their reprehensible characteristics. So, He unleashed upon them an earthquake that stilled all movement, a mighty cry that silenced all sounds, and a cloud (or canopy) from which He sent down upon them sparks of fire. Allah Almighty informed about them in each in a manner that suited its context.
