Who built the Kaaba?
The Kaaba has been built several times. The agreed-upon constructions are: the building by Ibrahim, by Quraysh, by Ibn Al-Zubayr, and by Al-Hajjaj. The disputed constructions are: the building by Adam, by the angels, by Seth, by the Amalekites, by Jurhum, by Qusayy, and by Abd al-Muttalib. There is disagreement regarding who first built it, and the two most probable opinions are: First: Ibrahim, peace be upon him, based on the verse: "And [mention] when Ibrahim was raising the foundations of the House." Second: Adam, peace be upon him, based on what was narrated from Umar and Ibn Abbas regarding the story of his building of the Kaaba.
