There is disagreement among scholars regarding who first built the Holy Kaaba. What is well-known among historians and chroniclers is that it was the angels. Some say it was Adam, peace be upon him, and others say it was Seth, peace be upon him. This is not mentioned in the Holy Quran nor in authentic prophetic traditions, but rather in some weak hadiths and narrations from the early Muslims. As for its absence from the Holy Quran, it is because its construction by him (Adam or Seth) has not been authentically established. Even if it were established, the Quran is not a historical record of all events; rather, it mentions what divine wisdom necessitates.
