What is the Sharia ruling on a wife returning to her husband after being unlawfully divorced during her postpartum period?

Divorcing a woman in her postpartum bleeding (nifas) is forbidden (haram) and an innovated act (bid'i). However, if the divorce occurs during nifas due to ignorance of the ruling, then there is no sin upon the one who pronounced it. The divorce is valid and enforceable despite its innovated nature. Consequently, the woman becomes irrevocably separated (ba'inah) upon the completion of her waiting period ('iddah). The man may remarry her with a new contract and dowry, and her consent, provided that the aforementioned divorce does not complete the three divorces.
