Is it permissible to request the dissolution of the marriage contract before consummation, in the event of continued aversion to the husband?

Marital life is based on love, but it can continue without it through kindness (ihsan), patience, and raising children. It was narrated that Umar ibn al-Khattab said that homes are built not only on love but also on care and good companionship. Therefore, we advise you to try and continue your marital relationship, as circumstances may change, or you may seek a divorce if you cannot bear to stay with him, after careful consideration and seeking guidance from Allah (istikharah), just as the wife of Thabit ibn Qays did when she requested separation because she could not bear to remain with him.
