The answer

Neglecting prayer is a greater sin than working in a gambling hall. One who abandons prayer hovers between disbelief and grave transgression, whereas working in gambling does not rise to the level of disbelief. It is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon prayer, even if he commits a sin. Prayer prohibits indecency and evil. However, one who prays and commits an indecent act has mixed a righteous deed with an evil one. Only (associating partners with Allah) nullifies good deeds. One must maintain prayer and abandon forbidden work. There is no necessity to earn from unlawful means to pay off debt. Whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better. And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect. One must have sincere intention, strive through lawful means, and supplicate with certainty, without rushing the answer.
