How can one reconcile the noble verses: (That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered their deeds worthless), and (And indeed, a party of the believers were averse), and (Fighting has been enjoined upon you, though it is disliked by you)? Is inner contentment a condition for the acceptance of deeds, or does the verse from Surah Muhammad (fighting) pertain only to disbelievers? What is the ruling on one who dislikes some of the rulings of Islam, as is the case with some Muslims today?

Hating some of the rulings of Islam and disliking the religion are signs of disbelief and misguidance. Allah Almighty has condemned those who hate the religion in many verses. As for the dislike of Jihad mentioned in the Quran, it refers to a natural aversion due to the hardship of fighting, not a hatred of Allah's command. Fighting may be disliked due to its difficulty, but it may be good because of the victory that follows. A person may love something that is evil for them. The dislike of some believers for the Prophet's (peace be upon him) departure or for the diversion of spoils from them was a natural dislike due to hardship, not a dislike of Allah's command.
