What should a young man do to repent and return to obedience after committing a sin, for approximately a week, without persistence, with the desire to rid himself of sins and return to faith and worship?

A Muslim must remain steadfast in obedience and repent when falling short, for Allah forgives all sins for those who repent and seek forgiveness, and He has promised mercy and forgiveness. The door of repentance is open as long as the sun has not risen from the West or until one faces death. Repentance must be sincere, involving remorse, abandoning the sin, resolving not to return to it, and restoring any injustices. To strengthen faith and steadfastness, one should read books on encouragement and deterrence, reflect on the Quran, associate with the righteous, and make abundant supplications.
