The answer

Humankind is of two types: male and female, for Allah the Almighty says: (He created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women) and His saying: (And He made from him two mates, the male and the female). A hermaphrodite is not a third type; rather, they are either male or female, but their state is unclear to us. As Al-Qurtubi explained, the progeny of Adam and Eve is confined to two types. On the Day of Resurrection, people will be two groups: (a group in Paradise and a group in the Blaze), and the people of Paradise are two categories: believing men and believing women, and the people of Hellfire are two categories: hypocrites and polytheists. Thus, the ultimate return of creation is to masculinity and femininity, and to Paradise and Hellfire.
