What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a smoking wife who does not respond to her husband's request to quit smoking, and this has affected their marital relationship, in addition to her inability to conceive after bearing one child? What should the husband do in this situation?

A man must prevent his wife from smoking cigarettes due to their religious and worldly harm. The most beneficial means to achieve this is through preaching, reminding her of Allah, and explaining the harms of cigarettes to her and the family. If the wife does not respond, she is considered disobedient for not obeying her husband in what is right. She may then be abandoned in bed, and then lightly beaten if abandonment does not work.
