What is the ruling on a wife who does not pray, does not read the Quran, delays purification after marital relations, and sometimes does not perform ghusl?

This woman is committing a grave sin by abandoning prayer and ghusl (ritual bath) after sexual defilement. She must hasten to repent and maintain her prayers. As for reciting the Quran, it is commendable. The husband must advise and admonish her; if she does not take heed, he should forsake her in bed. If she still does not take heed, he may strike her to make her obey Allah's command. If she persists, it is better to separate from her. He has the right to discipline her for neglecting Allah's obligatory duties, such as prayers. Indeed, Ahmad said, "I fear it is not permissible for a man to rest with a woman who does not pray."
