What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning a woman who caused the death of a man who fell from a tree that she had asked him to cut down to feed her sheep? And what is the ruling on the Hajj of a woman who collected money from relatives' charities, her own money, and the sale of Qat trees?

1. If a man commands a sane person to do something that leads to his destruction, there is no liability upon the commander, because he neither committed a crime nor transgressed.

2. Qat is forbidden to cultivate and trade, and the money earned from it is forbidden.

If the woman did not believe it was forbidden, or was ignorant and then learned of the prohibition, she may benefit from what she earned previously.

If she believed it was forbidden at the time of trade, she may not perform Hajj with that money; rather, she must dispose of it by giving it to the poor or for public welfare. If she no longer has enough for Hajj, then Hajj is not obligatory for her.

Performing Hajj with illicit money is valid, though sinful, according to the majority of scholars.
