What is the reason for the despair and lack of success in work and marriage experienced by the young engineer, and what should he do about it, especially when compared to those who are not religiously committed and appear to be more successful in their lives?

A Muslim must praise Allah for the good, and know that what is with Allah cannot be attained by disobeying Him. He should be optimistic and not despair, seek help from Allah Almighty, and supplicate frequently. He should seek out times of responsiveness, such as the last part of the night and after prayers. He should supplicate with the supplication of Yunus (peace be upon him): "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers," and with the Greatest Name, by which if He is invoked, He responds, and if He is asked, He gives.
