What is meant by "al-ba’ah," and does it include the ability for sexual relations and financial support? What is the sufficient amount for that, and what is the way forward if the average is high given societal constraints?

In the Hadith (definition), "al-ba'ah" (الباءة) refers to the ability to afford marriage and its expenses. Exorbitant dowries contravene Islamic law and lead to the spread of spinsterhood and fornication. Opinion leaders must address this problem and bring it to the attention of officials. A life of hardship (يشة الضنك) only arises from a lack of contentment with what Allah has provided, for true wealth lies in contentment.
