ما معنى مقاصد الشريعة؟

The objectives of Sharia are the goals intended by the All-Wise Lawgiver, and what is meant by divine obligations. Allah created humanity for His worship and subjected the universe to them to achieve this purpose, and He legislated laws for their worldly and otherworldly benefit.

The objectives of Sharia are based on realizing the interests of people in this world and the hereafter. They include preserving the necessities (essentials), needs (complementary), and embellishments (beautifications), and they work to attain and perfect benefits and to nullify and minimize harms.

Among the most important objectives of Sharia is the preservation of the five universals: religion, self (life), intellect, lineage, property, and honor, in addition to ease, lifting hardship, and difficulty. Abu Bakr ibn Asim al-Gharnati pointed out the categories of Sharia objectives: the necessities (such as preserving religion, self, intellect, property, and progeny), the needs (for expansion and lifting hardship), and the embellishments (in matters of customs).
