What is the ruling on naming a child "Kazim," and is there any sin in it? And what is the expiation for swearing to name a newborn a specific name, when that is no longer possible?

It is disliked to name children after transgressors and those who openly commit sins, such as singers. It is recommended to name a newborn with names like 'Abdullah' and 'Abdur-Rahman', as these are the most beloved names to Allah.

Furthermore, two matters must be highlighted: 1. It is unanimously forbidden for both men and women to listen to singing accompanied by musical instruments, except for the drum for women at weddings. As for a man singing without instruments, the nature of the lyrics should be considered. If they are good and promote virtue, a group of scholars has permitted it while others disliked it. If the lyrics are vulgar and promote vice, then it is forbidden. 2. Admiring and loving singers is prohibited. A Muslim loves what Allah loves and hates what Allah hates, and aligns loyalty and disloyalty accordingly.

As for expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat al-yamin), one has the choice between feeding ten poor persons, clothing them, or freeing a slave. If one is unable to do any of these three, then they must fast for three days.

It is not permissible to establish a relationship between a man and a woman outside the confines of marriage. Repentance and seeking forgiveness are obligatory for this relationship and for listening to forbidden singing.
